Swiss Souvenirs for Children: The Swiss Post Bus

To avoid cluttering our teeny tiny apartment with souvenirs from the foreign places we’ve been, I always restrict myself from buying souvenirs. I used to buy one mug as I found it to be usable in our home. Now that we have a daughter I start buying one or two toys that are originated from those places, like Krtek when we were in Prague and Nintje (Missy) when we were in Utrecht.

That said, I was so happy when I found these post bus toy series from the Swiss Post. They have many types of post buses to choose from. For example, here’s a wooden one:

and the bus stop:

and the plush version for the very young ones:

These and other toys on the website are somehow quite pricey, but when I was at the post office and picked up the flyer, they actually have many more and some are way cheaper. So, if you’re interested to see the whole collection, just drop by a post office and pick up the flyer there.

DeinDeal.ch – an Online Discounted Voucher Store

And who doesn’t like a good deal? Not me! When I stumbled upon this website, I knew I just had to share it here. After Fashion Friends, My-Store, and e-boutic, entered DeinDeal.ch. This concept of this site is very interesting. They sell many discounted vouchers that you can use to buy things or service. I have to say that I’m very excited with their vouchers for spa and beauty treatments. The only “problem” is that they are not yet in Lausanne (but coming – hopefully soon), so that most of the vouchers of the spa treatments and restaurants are in Zurich. But Zurich is only 2.5 hours away and maybe you go there frequently anyhow for work or pleasure. Click here to be a member and get notified for new offer.

Green Toys from Kidsonroof

I stumbled upon this website and just had to share it. Kidsonroof is a Dutch company that makes green toys, and their products are absolutely adorable. I’m smitten by their playhouses and the Trojan horse. See them for yourself here. They ship their products to many European countries, unfortunately not including Switzerland. But I know that many of you are from those countries and perhaps can just ship it to an address there and get them when you go there next time. I know I’ll do it for our September trip to Germany!

Cocooning

I passed by Rue du Grand St-Jean on Monday and couldn’t resist to check this shop: Cocooning. It looks really lovely and smells so good, a no-wonder as they’re selling natural soaps that are hand-made in Switzerland! There are also products for babies and children as well as many other beautiful things that made me feel like I need to totally re-do our bathroom supply. The products can also be bought online (click here).

Even better, there is a tea corner inside the shop at Rue du Grand St-Jean. If I wasn’t on my way to a coffee meet-up at that time, I would have sit there, getting myself a cup of tea and a chocolate chip cookie! They only have one table though, so it’s ideal for something like tea with your best friend.
