Me

My name is Meta. I’m a 34 y.o. first time mother of an almost two-year-old girl named Selma. I live with my husband and our daughter in Epalinges, north of Lausanne, since November 2005. I work part-time as a scientist, a cell biologist to be exact.

This blog

Just like what I said on my first entry on this blog, I don’t speak French really well, but I understand more and more each day. I understand and speak basic level of German, so that helps sometimes (thank God for multilingualism of this country).

I had problems finding answers or information about many things when I became pregnant. There was not much information available in English. This was the reason I started this blog. I want to share what I have learned. I hope you will find it useful. So, do drop a line or two when you have some additional info or comments in relation to what I blog about.

I always research the topic of the post and try to post the most current and accurate data. However, these things may change after sometime, so please double check, especially when it deals with important things.

The guest blogger

Caroline is now a guest blogger! Isn’t it fantastic to have a native English speaker with a degree in journalism and a passion to explore every inch of Lausanne as a second blogger here? You can email her at caroline(AT)lausannemom.com

Besides Caroline, there are several other moms whom had contributed posts or useful information. If you want to post something that you think can benefit other moms, please contact me. I’ll be more than happy to post it. Your work will of course be acknowledged.

The images I use

As much as I can, I try to use my own collection of pictures. Otherwise, I use royalty free or Creative Common images I find on the net, mostly from stock.xchng or Flickr. Please do not use any image on this blog without permission. For the Creative Common ones, please go to the original Flickr page to download the original.
