What You Must Know: Photographs of Identifiable People in Switzerland

With the warmer months now here, and especially the outdoor swimming pools opened, I feel the need of a re-post as this is a topic that needs to be known and remembered.  (Original post dated June 2015)

On Saturday 24heures ran an article on regulations of photographing people in public space, in this case within the area of public swimming pools. Yes, that includes photos of own children. Based on this regulations, dated back to decades ago, it is forbidden to take photos at all – though the article also explains that in practice it really depends on the circumstances (Does the child wish to be photographed? Does the child know the photographer? etc)

Valentine’s Day Giveaway: Rita Ambrosi Photography

I have been blogging here for 5 years. During those years I’ve covered many different topics, but there were a few that are always hot. One of them is family photographer.

I’m happy to learn that we now have Rita Ambrosi in Lausanne. Rita moved to Switzerland a little over a year ago with her husband and her little boy. They are from Mexico but have lived abroad for a couple of years now because of Rita’s husbands work.

Rita is passionate about photography and even more now that she’s a mother, as the photos allow her to go back in time and relive every moment with her son. Oh, don’t we all agree with that?

Rita offers photo sessions for families, children, newborns, pregnancy, and couples. She speaks English, French and Spanish. Her current rate is very reasonable: CHF150 for a 2-hour session on location.

Zoe Bailey Photography – with a Giveaway!

About a month ago, Lausanne Mom facebook page hit a milestone: it welcomed its 500th followers. It called for a celebration but I was still struggling with my mommy burnt-out. Thankfully now I have recovered and am happy to celebrate it with a giveaway. And this one is a really good one.

I’m sure many of you have heard and even used the service of Zoe Bailey Photography. Zoe moved to Switzerland from UK in 2006. Since then she has been busy with her photography business that has received many many positive responses from the families in Vaud and Geneva area. Just take a look at her gallery, those photos of bumps, babies and children (among others) definitely speak for themselves. Additionally, several mothers raved that Zoe was great with their kids, had great ideas and was always equally happy to do just what the client wanted.

Zoe is also a photographer for Now I lay me down to sleep – a nonprofit organization that has provided thousands of families of babies who are stillborn or are at risk of dying as newborns with free professional portraits with their baby. There are only 2 NILMDTS affiliated photographers in Switzerland and Zoe is the only one in the French-speaking part. I honestly can’t admire and respect her high enough for providing such service.

Now back to the giveaway I promised…

Zoe kindly offers a free photo session that includes 10 digital images (worth 250chf) to ONE lucky Lausanne Mom reader. To enter this giveaway contest, please leave a comment with an answer to this question:

“What is your favorite photography related website? This could be a photo service, a blog, a forum, or whatever else, as long as it’s related somehow to photography”

For example, my favorite sites include: ifolor.ch and fnac.ch (where I usually print my photos) and The Sartorialist (for real street fashion photography).

Comments are accepted until Monday, 7 Oct 2013 at 23:59. One winner will be picked by random.org as usual.

Good luck!
